Unlike CANsmart Gen I, the four circuits in Gen II can provide as many as 10 amps of continuous power, and each circuit can be configured to run any type of accessory. The maximum power consumption for the entire unit remains at 30 continuous amps.

Gen II also features two new auxiliary light configurations. It is now possible to modulate the auxiliary lights for increased visibility and to set the left and right position lights to cancel independently when the corresponding turn signal is activated.
